Caterpillar CCM PC for Windows is a software program designed to run on a personal computer under Microsoft Windows®. This software package allows remote access to Caterpillar Electronic Control Modules (ECMs) equipped with a CCM interface. CCM PC software provides the following tools: * Remote control ability * Parameter status display* Diagnostic viewing/clearing options* Parameter logging
The JERD2157 CCM PC Software is for use only with the 117-6170 Control Group (CCM) for diesel engines. The software must be purchased separately from the control group. New control groups purchased from the parts distribution system do not come with software included.
The JERD2162 CCM PC Software is for use with both gas and diesel engines. In diesel engine applications it is used with the 117-6170 Control Group. In gas engine applications JERD2162 CCM PC Software is used with the 145-3902 Control Group. The software must be purchased separately when control groups are purchased from the parts distribution system.
JERD2157 CCM PC Software can be configured to communicate with more than one diesel engine simultaneously. JERD2162 CCM PC Software can also be configured to communicate with more than one engine simultaneously, but all engines the computer is communicating with at one time must be of the same type, either all diesel or all gas.
If JERD2157 CCM PC Software resides on a computer and JERD2162 CCM PC Software is loaded into that same computer, the JERD2162 CCM PC Software completely overwrites the JERD2157 CCM PC Software. Two versions of CCM software cannot exist on one computer at the same time.
