A new 224-5122 Gasket and 142-2329 Seal is now available as service replacement for the former 153-9653 Cylinder Head Gasket. The new gasket and seal assembly is only availability for the above listed engines that were built after 06November 1997. Table 1 shows the applications that should continue to use the original cylinder head gasket. The former gasket is shown in illustration 1. The new replacement gasket and the molded seal that drops in place is shown in illustration 2. Table 2 lists the applications for the new replacement gaskets.

The new 224-5122 Gasket and 142-2329 Seal should still be used on 3406E Engines that were built after 06November 1997 with the change level 04 drawing 137-8472 Cylinder Block Gp.
