Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Disconnect harness assembly (1).
Remove bolt (3) and camshaft position sensor (2).
Remove O-ring seal (not shown) from camshaft position sensor (3). Installation Procedure

Install a new O-ring seal on camshaft position sensor (not shown). Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
Position camshaft position sensor (2) in the front housing and install bolt (3). Tighten bolt (3) to a torque of 28 7 N m (21 5 lb ft).
Connect harness assembly (1).
