Illustration 2 g00918051
Illustration 3 g00867393
The "General Log File Settings" consists of the following choices:"File size in kbytes" - This option allows the user to define the maximum size of the files in kilobytes. If a log file reaches this limit, a new file is open."Every (x) minutes flush log files to disk" - This option allows the user to define a timed task that will force the data that is stored in log files to be written to a disk. Setting to zero minutes will disable this task. The recommended interval is 10 minutes."Special Event Log Files" are optional files that are generated on alarm events and/or notice events. When alarm events and/or notice events occur, the "Special Event Log Files" will be generated after a programmed delay. These "Special Event Log Files" contain all telemetry data that is contained in UPS View memory at the time of the alarm events and/or notice events. These files do not have the same restrictions in the size of the files as the general log files. One event will generate one set of files in the following form: 1234_Nov_30_2001_000_eventM1_1.txt. The following example is an explanation of the form: 1234_ the serial number of the UPS, Nov_30_2001_ the date the file was created, 000_ the number of the file and eventM1_1.txt indicates that this is a special event log file containing MMU data2 from node ID 1."Log on Alarm level errors" - Checking this box will allow log files to be enabled for alarm events."Log on Notice level errors" - Checking this box will allow log files to be enabled for notice events."Generate Log Files After Delay" - "Generate Log Files After Delay" specifies the length of time after an event is needed to wait before generating the log files for events. This allows UPS View to gather data after the event before generating the log files for special events."Dump Telemetry Data to File"
Illustration 4 g00918061
Selecting this option will generate a set of special log files. These log files contain all the data that is currently in the memory of UPS View. These log files are not subject to the limitations that are set for the size of files in the "Log File Settings". Refer to the following description for information about reading these files.1234_Nov_30_2001_000_dumpM2_1.txt - 1234 is the serial number of the UPS. Nov_30_2001 is the creation date of the file. 000 is a file number. This number is incremented with each new file. dumpM2_1 indicates that this is a system telemetry log file that has been manually dumped. The log file contains MMU data2 from node ID 1."Log All
