Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Install Tooling (A) in the cylinder block. Place gaskets (18) in position.

Attach a suitable lifting device to rear aftercooler housing (16). The weight of rear aftercooler housing (16) is approximately 236 kg (520 lb).
Install rear aftercooler housing (16) on the cylinder block. Remove Tooling (A) and install bolts (17) into the cylinder block.
Attach a suitable lifting device to the front aftercooler housing. The weight of the front aftercooler housing is approximately 236 kg (520 lb). Place the front aftercooler housing in position on the cylinder block and install the bolts that hold the front aftercooler housing in place.

Ensure that the O-ring seals are in position in the ends of pipes (15). Put glycerin on the O-ring seals.
Install the bolts that hold pipes (15) to the rear aftercooler housing.
If pipes (13) and pipes (14) were separated, put new O-ring seals in position on pipes (13). Put glycerin in the bore of pipes (14) and assemble the pipes.
Put the O-ring seals in the ends of pipes (13) and pipes (14). Put glycerin on the O-ring seals. Install pipes (13) and pipes (14) on the aftercooler housings. Note: Put glycerin on all of the O-ring seals before the seals are assembled.

Put elbow (11) in position on the aftercooler. Put tube (10) in position on elbow (11). Install the bolts and spacers (12).
Install the retainers and the bolts that hold tube (10) in place in elbow (11).
Ensure that the O-ring seals are in place in flanges (8). Install flanges (8) and tube (9) while the flanges and the tube are assembled together.

Install housing (5), housing (6), and housing (7) on the rear aftercooler housing.

Install pipe (3) and pipe (4) in housing (5).

Put the gaskets in place between the turbochargers, elbow (1), and elbow (2). Install elbow (1), elbow (2), and the bolts.
Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change". End By:
Install the exhaust manifolds. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Exhaust Manifold - Remove and Install".
