Description of Change: Engineering changes have been made to build all Reman 3500 Engines with one-piece pistons and eliminate the two-piece pistons from factory builds.Adaptable To: Beginning on 1April 2010 all 3500 Reman Engines consists and bills of materials were changed to utilize the one-piece ( 10R-9270, 10R-4377, and 10R-4342 ) pistons. Previous bills of material allowed for the use of two-piece pistons ( 180-7471, 180-7472 and 10R-1468 ), if the supply of one-piece pistons did not meet the 3500 Engine build schedules. The beginning engine serial numbers for the piston change are listed below. For engine (prefix 7DS) arrangement numbers 0R9551 and 10R-2851 , one-piece pistons were used in production starting with serial number 7DS931-UPon 6April 2009.
