Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the water system and water system components when freezing conditions exist. This is done in order to avoid damage to the water system components.
Note: Your machine may not be equipped with all of the components that are described in this topic.Water Injection System
If equipped with the water injection system, follow the procedures below in order to protect the system from freezing.

Remove the water tank drain plug located at the bottom of the water tank and allow the water to drain.
Install the water tank drain plug.
If equipped with an additional water tank, follow the procedure below in order to protect the system from freezing.
Leave the water lines disconnected in order to protect the water pump from freezing.Note: Fill the water tanks and reconnected the water lines prior to machine operation.
