The fuel transfer pump that is contained within the 276-8398 Fuel Injection Pump Gp has an issue with rusting.In order to correct this issue, follow this procedure.Wear eye protection and suitable gloves.
Ensure that the engine is cold. All external dirt is removed from the fuel transfer pump, in order to start the rework.
By using 4C-8651 Stripper - Alum and a suitable cloth, apply the 4C-8651 Stripper - Alum to the affected areas of the fuel transfer pump. Clean the lacquer off the fuel transfer pump.
Wash the fuel transfer pump with water. Allow the fuel transfer pump to dry.
Use a wire brush to clean the surface rust from the fuel transfer pump. Do not damage the fuel injection lines.
Use a suitable cloth to clean the fuel transfer pump of any dust or debris.
Apply 4C-5843 Paint - Black to the affected area of the fuel transfer pump.
Allow the 4C-5843 Paint - Black to dry on the fuel transfer pump.
The engine can now be operated.
