and D300B Articulated Dump TrucksDescription of Change: Longer bolts are now used to secure the 4U1334 Center Drive Shaft. The 0S0484 Bolts currently used are 6 mm (0.25") longer than the former 0S1579 Bolts to give five extra threads of engagement. The bolt torque has also been increased. These changes reduce the tendency of loosening of the drive line hardware.
Adaptable To: These changes are adaptable to machines in service. The changes are effective with: 5WD497, 4SD543, 3HJ29. The torque specification for the 0S0484 Center Drive Shaft Bolts and the 0S1578 bolts used in all other trailer drive shaft spiders has been increased to 135 15 N m (100 10 lb. ft.).
