Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove the engine oil filter housings. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filter Housings - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: This is the TYPICAL procedure for the disassembly of the engine oil filter housing.Note: Mark the location of the valve housing and the filter housings before disassembly. This will provide the reference for proper assembly.

Be prepared to hold the covers as the bolts are loosened. A spring force of 204 to 240 N (45 to 54 lb) will be released as the bolts are removed. Ejected parts can cause personal injury.
Remove covers (1).
Remove the O-ring seals from covers (1).

Pull out the wire racks. Remove oil filter elements (2) from each filter bank.

Remove the bolt that holds shaft assembly (3) to tube assembly (5).
Remove support assembly (4).

Remove plug (10), spring (9), and ball (8) from cover (7).
Remove cover (7) from housing (6).
Remove the O-ring seal from cover (7).

Remove the bolts that hold plate (11) to housing (6). Remove tube assembly (5).
Remove the O-ring seal from plate (11).

Remove changeover valve (12) from housing (6).

Push piston (13) inward so that retaining ring (15) can be removed. Remove piston (13) and spring (14).
Remove O-ring seal (16) from changeover valve (12).

Remove housings (17).
Remove O-ring seals (19) for each housing.
Remove tubes (20). Remove O-ring seals (18) from the tubes.
