All 3208, 3304, 3306, 3406, 3408 and 3412 Generator Set Engines Equipped With 3N8900 Control PanelsDescription of Change: Rubber bumpers are now used with the 3N8900 Control Panels on the above generator sets. Washers are also used under the existing shock mounts so that there is approximately 3.2 mm (.12") gap between the bumpers and the generator. These rubber bumpers and washers limit the movement of the control panel. Formerly, rubber bumpers were not used. Without the rubber bumpers the control panel could move back and forth enough to be damaged.
Adaptable As: The new 7W37 Bumpers are adaptable to all 3N8900 Control Panels. To install the bumpers on earlier control panels use the following procedure.
1. Remove the control panel.2. Drill four 6.5 mm (.250") holes in the locations shown in Illustration 1. Make sure all chips and shavings are removed.3. Install the bumpers, 3B4504 Lockwashers and 6V8185 Nuts as shown in Illustration 2.4. Install the S1590 Bolts, 5M2894 Washers, 3K8909 Lockwashers and 1D4717 Nuts as shown in Illustration 2. Use enough 5M2894 Washers between the top of the generator and the shock mounts so that there is approximately 3.2 mm (.12") between the generator and the bumpers.
