To prevent possible personal injury, make sure all cushion hitch components are completely lowered, the pressure from the hydraulic system is released and the engine has been shut off for a minimum of five minutes to be sure that the accumulator oil pressure is zero. The accumulator is filled with dry nitrogen. Do not loosen or remove the valve from the cap on top of the accumulator. A bleed screw at the bottom of the accumulator can be used to release any pressure that remains in the system.
1. Drain the hydraulic tank below the fill level.2. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (2) from the pump.3. Remove nuts (3), cushion hitch hydraulic pump (4) and the gasket from the rear of the transmission. Use the reverse procedures of Steps 1 through 4 for the installation of the cushion hitch hydraulic pump.Disassemble Cushion Hitch Hydraulic Pump
Start By:a. remove cushion hitch hydraulic pump 1. Remove screws (1) and servo valve (2) from plate assembly (3). 2. Remove the bolts, plate assembly (3) and gasket (4) from hydraulic pump housing (5). 3. Remove bearing (6) and piston (7) from plate assembly (3). When block assembly (8) is removed, make a note of the piston locations in the block assembly for correct installation purposes.4. Remove block assembly (8) from hydraulic pump housing (5). Spring force is present behind ring (12).5. Use tool (B) to remove ring (12). Remove spacer (11), spring (10) and spacer (9) from block assembly (8). 6. Remove the retaining ring and pins (13) from block assembly (8). 7. Remove pivot (14) from the swashplate. 8. Remove spider (15) and pistons (16) as a unit from the swashplate. If the pistons are removed from the spider, mark their location in the spider for installation purposes.9. If necessary, remove pistons (16) from spider (15). 10. Use tool (A), and remove ring (17) from the hydraulic pump housing. 11. Use a soft hammer, and remove shaft (18) from hydraulic pump housing (5). 12. Remove seal (25) and washer (24) from shaft (18).13. Use tool (D), and remove ring (23). Remove race (22), bearing (21) and race (20) from shaft (18).14. Use tool (D), and remove ring (19) from shaft (18). 15. Use tool (B), and remove retainers (26) and (35) from both sides of hydraulic pump housing (5).16. Remove covers (27) and (34), seals (28) and (33), bearings (29) and (32) and races (30) and (31) from hydraulic pump housing (5). 17. Remove swashplate (36) from hydraulic pump housing (5).18. If necessary, remove the button and the pin from swashplate (36). 19. Remove collar (37) and spring (38) from the hydraulic pump housing.20. Remove collar (37) from spring (38). 21. Use tool group (C), and remove the bearing from the hydraulic pump housing.Assemble Cushion Hitch Hydraulic Pump
1. Lubricate bearing (1) with clean hydraulic oil.2. Use tool group (A), and install bearing (1) in hydraulic pump housing (2). Install the bearing with the numbered end toward the outside and 1.96 0.38 mm
