At operating temperature, the steering and brake hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the steering and brake hydraulic system before hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.
Note: Install caps and plugs on all openings in order to prevent dirt or debris from entering the system. Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Slowly depress the breaker valve in order to release the pressure in the steering hydraulic tank. The breaker valve is located on the steering hydraulic tank. Remove the filler cap on the steering hydraulic tank after all of the pressure has been released.
