Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Handle the shields carefully. Do not tear the stainless steel foil inside the heat shields.

Cut the stainless steel wire that holds the shield assemblies together.
Remove the bolts that hold shield assemblies (1) to the cylinder head and to the aftercooler and remove shield assemblies (1).
Remove shield assembly (2).
Remove the bolts that hold shield assembly (3) to the turbocharger and remove shield assembly (3).
Do not use flammable liquid in order to clean the stainless steel foil inside of the heat shield. Use only water and detergent. Flammable liquid can saturate the insulation material and cause a fire when the engine temperature rises.
Installation Procedure

Put shield assembly (3) in position and install the bolts that hold shield assembly (3) to the turbocharger.
Install shield assembly (2).
Put shield assemblies (1) in position and install the bolts that hold shield assemblies (1) to the cylinder heads and the aftercooler.
Use stainless steel wire to hold the shield assemblies together.
