Introduction
The pressure reducing valve reduces implement pump pressure to pilot pressure. The pilot pressure is then sent to the pilot controls and the valve stack. The following test will verify whether the pressure reducing valve is within specification.Required Tools

Required Tools
Tool    Item    Qty    Part No    Description
A         198-4240     Digital Pressure Indicator Gp
    A1     1     198-4234     Digital Indicator
A2 1     198-4237     Pressure Sensor Gp
(0 to 3,445 kPa (0 to 500 psi))
A3 1     198-4236     Adapter Cable As    Test Preparation - Pressure Reducing Valve
Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location.
Engage the parking brake.
Lower all of the implements.
Stop the engine.
Turn the key to the ON position, but do not start the engine.
Verify that the implement lockout switch is in the UNLOCKED position.
Move the control levers through the full range of travel several times. This procedure should relieve any pressure that may be present in the implement hydraulic system.
Make sure that the pressure in the entire hydraulic system has been released.

(1) Accumulator (CPG) Charge pressure after the reducing valve (HA) Implement pump pressure (2) Pressure reducing valve (3) Relief valve (HB) Implement pump signal pressure
Locate the (CPG) port behind the access panel on the right console of the operator station.
Connect tooling (A) to the (CPG) port.Note: Make sure that the accumulator pressure is relieved or it will be very difficult to attach tooling (A) .Test Procedure - Pressure Reducing Valve
Start the engine.
Operate the engine at high idle and exercise the implement hydraulics.
The pilot pressure at the (CPG) port should be 3275 175 kPa (475 25 psi).
If the pressure setting is not within the specified limit, perform the procedure in "Adjustment Procedure - Pressure Reducing Valve".Adjustment Procedure - Pressure Reducing Valve

(1) Accumulator (CPG) Charge pressure after the reducing valve (HA) Implement pump pressure (2) Pressure reducing valve (3) Relief valve (HB) Implement pump signal pressure
Locate the pressure reducing valve (2) behind the access panel on the right console of the operator station.
Loosen the locknut on the adjustment screw of pressure reducing valve (2). Make sure to hold the adjustment screw in place when you loosen the locknut.
Turn the adjustment screw in a clockwise direction in order to increase the pressure. Turn the adjustment screw in a counterclockwise direction in order to decrease the pressure.Note: One turn adjusts the pilot pressure by approximately 1380 kPa (200 psi).
When the pressure is within the specified limit, the adjustment procedure is complete.
Tighten the locknut on the adjustment screw to a torque of 12 N m (9 lb ft). Make sure to hold the adjustment screw in place when you tighten the locknut.
Remove the test equipment and install the access panel on the right console of the operator station.Test Preparation - Relief Valve
Note: Bench test only. The relief valve cannot be tested or adjusted on the machine.
