Be sure no one is working on or near the machine to prevent injury. Keep the machine under control at all times to prevent injury.Reduce engine speed when maneuvering in tight quarters or when breaking over a rise.Select the speed range necessary before starting downgrade. Do not change speed ranges while going downhill.A good practice is to use the same speed range going downgrade that would be used to go up the grade.Do not allow the engine to overspeed downhill. Use the governor control lever to reduce engine overspeed going downhill.1. Adjust the operator's seat.2. Fasten the seat belt (if equipped). 3. Pull parking brake knob (3) out to release the parking brake.4. Pull out and lock governor control lever (1) in high idle. 5. Move transmission speed range switch (5) to the desired speed range.7. Select the travel speed within the selected speed range by rotating speed control knob (2).8. Move direction control lever (4) in the desired direction. The selected speed is obtained when the direction control lever is at full forward or full reverse position. Drive the machine forward for best visibility and control.
For operator comfort and maximum service life of power train components, deceleration is recommended before any directional shifts are made.
