Governor Control Adjustment
The linkage that connects the control solenoid to the governor control requires the proper adjustment. Do not allow the solenoid assembly to activate the overstroke spring. If you activate the lever on the governor control beyond the stop for the high idle, you may cause the solenoid to malfunction.Use the following procedure in order to adjust the governor control.

Align the plunger that is located on solenoid (1) with governor control (2) .
Move the engine speed switch to the HIGH position.
Move the key switch to the ON position in order to energize solenoid (1). Do not start the engine.
Loosen the locknuts on linkage assembly (3) .
Adjust the linkage assembly until the lever on the governor control contacts the stop for the high idle.Note: Do not activate the overstroke spring (4) or allow any overstroke to occur on the governor lever.
Tighten the locknuts on the linkage assembly.
Cycle the engine speed switch in order to ensure that the lever on the governor control contacts the high idle stop.
Manually move plunger (5) in order to check for any binding of the linkage that may occur. If necessary, adjust the linkage.
