Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Remove pin (1). Disconnect harness assembly (3) and reposition panel (1) .

Disconnect harness assembly (4) .

Remove cover (5) and disconnect harness assembly (6) .

Disconnect all hose assemblies (7) .

Disconnect all hose assemblies (8). Disconnect harness assembly (9) .

Remove bolts (11) and shroud (10) .

Disconnect all hose assemblies (13). Disconnect tube assembly (14) and reposition.

Remove pin (15) and bolt (16). Reposition panel (17) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to control valve (18). The weight of control valve (18) is approximately 104 kg (230 lb).

Remove bolts (20) and bracket (19) .

Install control valve (21) in the reverse order of removal.
