Information:
This diagnostic code is recorded when the object detection display does not receive information from other electronic controls on the Cat data link. The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed in the order of probability:
A poor electrical connection at a machine harness connector
A circuit in the Cat data link is shorted to ground.
The Cat data link circuit in the object detection harness is shorted to the +battery circuit.
The Cat data link circuit in the object detection harness is open.System Response:The object detection system is disabled. The system will reactivate when all of the Cat data link parameters are available. The status indicator for the system will illuminate red.Test Step 1. CHECK FOR OTHER CODESCheck the VIMS monitor for similar diagnostic codes that are logged against other electronic control modules. If a similar diagnostic code is found, exit this test and perform the corresponding procedures for the other diagnostic codes that are shown.Expected Result:No other diagnostic codes are present. Results:
YES - There are no other related diagnostic codes. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NO - There are active diagnostic codes that are related.Repair: Exit this procedure and perform the diagnostic procedure for the diagnostic codes that are shown.STOPTest Step 2. INSPECT THE HARNESS CONNECTORS
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Inspect the connections of the machine harness to the object detection display and the object detection harness to the Cat data link.Ensure that all of the connectors are clean and tight.Expected Result:The connections on the machine harness are clean and tight. Results:
YES - The connections on the machine harness are clean and tight. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The connections on the machine harness are not clean and/or tight.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
The key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
Disconnect the Cat data link connections for the object detection harness from the machine harness.
Take the following measurement at connector "CM-C2" of the machine harness for the object detection display. Measure the resistance between frame ground and contact 7 wire (893-GN(Green)). Measure the resistance between frame ground and contact 8 (wire 892-BR(Brown)). Note the resistances.Expected Result:The resistance measurement should be greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
YES - The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. The resistance of the harness circuit is correct. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NO - The resistance is less than 5000 ohms.Repair: The machine harness has failed. There is a short between frame ground and the Cat data link circuit in the object detection harness. Repair or replace the object detection harness.STOPTest Step 4. CHECK FOR A SHORT TO THE +BATTERY CIRCUIT
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.Note: All modules remain disconnected from the object detection harness.
At connector "CM-C2" of the machine harness for the object detection display, measure the voltage between frame ground and contact 7 wire (893-GN(Green)). Measure the voltage between frame ground and contact 8 wire (892-BR(Brown)). Note
