The use of stainless steel hardware is used for both copper and aluminum components that will be mated. The stainless steel hardware is required for all connections to allow for varying rates of thermal expansion of the different materials. Therefore, periodic checks and inspection of connections is a requirement.Turn off and disconnect the energy equipment from the site BEFORE performing any service on the system that includes electrical connections.Checking the electrical connections is an important part of the maintenance for the energy storage system. Incorrect connection may cause the system to malfunction.Check the connections for the following components:
Cell interconnections
Power connections at the module boards
Bus connections at the main system bus
Bus connections at the rectifier
Load cable connectors
Lithium ion battery (power cell) connectionsCheck all lead wires and electrical connections for proper clearance. Inspect all cables for chafing, abrasion, and corrosion.Electrical Connectors
Ensure that the connectors are properly locked. Also, ensure that the two halves of the connector cannot be pulled apart.Ensure that the wires to the connectors are free of abrasion, nicks, or cuts and the harness is properly clamped.
