Move the machine to a hard, level surface. The surface must also be dry and free of debris.

Ensure that there is no interference with other components when both of the brake pedals are applied and released. When both brake pedals are in the released position, the stop lights for the machine should be in the OFF position.
Insert a 3.5 mm (0.14 inch) shim between Treadle heel stop (4) and pedal stop (3) of both the left brake pedal and the right brake pedal. Monitor the stop lights. When the shims are in place, the stop lights should be in the ON position. Remove the shims.
Insert a 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) shim between Treadle heel stop (4) and pedal stop (3) of both the left brake pedal and the right brake pedal. Monitor the stop light. When the shims are in place, the stop lights should be in the OFF position. Remove the shims.
