Rework Procedure
1. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly KENR6052 - "Engine Oil Pan-Remove" for specific instructions to remove the front section of the oil pan.
2. Once the oil pan has been removed, apply a paintmark to each of the scavenge pump mounting bolt heads (parallel with the crankshaft, for ease of reference) as shown in Image 1.1.1.

3. In the tightening direction, torque each fastener to 100 N.m. and record the amount of bolt rotation (approximate angle or photograph can be provided for visual comparison).

4. Starting with bolt 1 (image 3), remove the bolt and discard. Ensure that the threads in the block are clean and free of oil or debris prior to installing the new fastener. To condition the threads on the new bolt, torque fastener to 100 N-m, then remove fastener.

5. Apply Loctite 243 along thread engagement length (20mm from bolt end), as shown in image 4. Torque fastener to 100 N-m. Torque process should be completed within 10 minutes of applying Loctite. Temperature above 15 C. Care must be taken to prevent the Loctite from contacting the bolt underhead, as this can cause increased assembly friction resulting in reduced clamp load of the fastener.

6. Repeat step 4 for the remaining fasteners.
7. Following completion of the scavenge pump bolt replacement, refer to Disassembly and Assembly KENR6052 - "Engine Oil Pan - Install - C175-20"
8. Records and documentation of the bolt rotation torque check should be attached to the claim in SIMSi.
