The engine speed maintained is critical for efficient operation of the PR-750B. The engine speed must be kept at 2100 RPM or higher for several reasons: 1. Maximum engine horsepower is produced at 2100 RPM. If the combination of cutter depth and machine travel speed produces a load on the engine that is great enough to lug the engine down, less horsepower is available to do a job that was requiring maximum horsepower. The travel speed and cutter speed will both be reduced, but the power required at the cutter will probably be more than the engine can produce at the lower speed and the engine will stall.2. The engine radiator and the hydraulic oil cooler depend on the flow of air created by the engine fan to carry off excess heat from the engine and hydraulic oil. When the engine speed drops, the fan speed drops, and less cooling air is available to cool the engine and the hydraulic oil. Either one or both may overheat and cause damage to components.3. The track drive pump has a charge pump that supplies cooling oil to the track drive hydrostatic transmission. If the engine speed drops, the charge pump speed drops and less cooling oil is supplied. This can cause the oil in the hydrostatic transmission to overheat and result in damage to the pump and motors.4. The lower conveyor is designed to load the upper conveyor properly when the engine speed is 2100 RPM or more. If the engine speed drops, the conveyor speed also drops, and some of the material from the lower conveyor will fall to the ground instead of going into the upper conveyor hopper. TO ACHIEVE THE HIGHEST PRODUCTION RATE AND AT THE SAME TIME OBTAIN THE LONGEST POSSIBLE OPERATING LIFE FOR THE MACHINE COMPONENTS, ALWAYS OPERATE THE MACHINE WITH THE ENGINE AT FULL THROTTLE AND ALWAYS KEEP THE ENGINE SPEED AT OR ABOVE 2100 RPM. IF THE LOAD CAUSES THE ENGINE SPEED TO DROP, REDUCE THE TRAVEL SPEED AND/OR REDUCE THE DEPTH OF CUT.
