See the replacement article that follows.The rotary fuel pump that is used on the 3054C engine in the D2 and E Series Backhoe Loaders uses diesel fuel for lubrication of the pump. One metering valve controls fuel flow to all four injectors. This increases the sensitivity of the fuel pump to fuel quality. If problems occur, customers should use 256-4968 Diesel Fuel Conditioner. This should help fuel quality by increasing the capability of the fuel for the lubrication. This will allow the internal parts of the fuel pump to move freely in order to react normally to engine speed and power demands. This additive can be used with all diesel fuels, but especially low sulfur diesel fuels that may have lower properties of lubrication. Use 256-4968 Diesel Fuel Conditioner according to directions.
