If the machine is equipped with chemical tanks, add the weight of the following components to the machine's total weight: mounting brackets and empty chemical tanks .Calculating the Maximum Allowable Counterweight
Subtract the total weight of the machine from 12130 kg (26,750 lb). The maximum allowable weight of 12130 kg (26,750 lb) includes the operator and a fuel tank that is 70 percent full. The calculated value is the maximum amount of counterweight that can be added to the machine. Only use enough counterweight in order to balance the machine.Installation of Counterweight
Front Counterweights
Bumper Weights

The 364 kg (800 lb) of front bumper weights can be lowered in order to access the chin weights. You do not need to remove the bumper weights in order to access the chin weights. Each bumper weight weighs 25 kg (55 lb) .Use the following procedure in order to pivot the bumper weights.
Support the bumper weights with a floor jack. Locate the jack at the center of the bumper weights.
Open the hood. Remove the four bolts that attach the front bracket to the frame rails. Then, slide the bracket all the way forward.
Slowly lower the floor jack in order to access the chin weights.Use the following procedure in order to install the bumper weights.
Open the hood.
If the mounting bracket is not installed on the machine, install the mounting bracket.
Place the center bumper weights to the outside of the guide pin. Then, push the center bumper weights together.
Install the remaining bumper weights on each side of the center bumper weights. Make sure that you install the retainer plate in the proper position for the amount of bumper weights that are installed.Note: Only install the amount of counterweight that is needed in order to balance the machine. You do not need to install the entire bumper weight group onto the machine.
Secure the bumper weights with the bolts.Reverse this procedure in order to remove the bumper weights.Chin Weights
The 612 kg (1350 lb) chin weights consists of twelve counterweights. Each chin weight weighs 50 kg (112 lb). The chin weights are mounted to the frame rails below the engine.Use the following procedure in order to install the chin weights.
Open the hood.
If the machine is equipped with bumper weights, lower the bumper weights. See "Bumper Weights" .
Slide the chin weights onto the frame rail from the front of the machine.

If the machine is not equipped with bumper weights, install plate (1) after the proper amount of chin weight is installed.
Secure the chin weights with bolts (2) and the retainer plate. Each bolt should go through at least half of the chin weights.
If the machine is equipped with bumper weights, raise the mounting bracket.Reverse the procedure in order to remove the chin weights.Idler Weights
Use the following procedure in order to install the counterweights for the idler. You can install partial sets of idler weights if equal amounts of counterweight are installed on the inner idler and the outer idler.
