S. A. ExcavatorsIn some applications, 215 S. A. Excavators are operated on slopes. If the angle of the slope is large enough, increased torque capacity is some times needed in the 1U2767 Track Motors to move the excavator up the slope. Torque can be increased in the track motors with the installation of a 9J7741 Cam.
This cam is a direct replacement for the standard 1U2766 Cam in the 1U2767 Track Motors. The installation of the 9J7741 Cam makes the 1U2767 Track Motor the same as the 3G784 Track Motor used in the 225 Excavator.
Caterpillar's recommendation is to make the above change only in those applications where increased torque is needed for operation on steep slopes. The increase in torque will cause a decrease in track speed.
