Operating The Machine
Adjust the operator seat.
Fasten the seat belt.

(1) Service brake
(2) Decelerator pedal
Push down on service brake pedal (1) in order to prevent the machine from moving.
Start the engine.
Raise all attachments enough to clear any unexpected obstacles.

(6A) Transmission upshift
(6B) Transmission downshift
Push down on knob (4) in order to disengage the parking brake. Disengaging the parking brake will allow movement of the steering lever and will enable the transmission controls. Note: When the parking brake is set, the transmission defaults to NEUTRAL. When the parking brake is released, the transmission will stay in NEUTRAL even if the direction selector is in the F position or the R position. To select the direction of machine travel, return direction selector (5) to neutral. Then, move direction selector (5) to the desired direction.
Move direction selector (5) to the desired direction.
Press transmission upshift button (6A) or transmission downshift button (6B) for the desired transmission speed.
Release service brake pedal (1) in order to allow the machine to move.

(Engine throttle control) 7
Rotate engine throttle control (7) clockwise in order to increase the idle speed. For high idle, rotate the engine throttle to highest position.
Rotate engine throttle control (7) counterclockwise in order to lower the idle speed.
Select intermediate engine speed by rotating the engine throttle control between high idle and low idle.
Use differential steering control (3) in order to turn the machine.
Drive the machine forward for best visibility and for control. Changing Direction and Speed
For operator comfort and maximum service life of power train components, deceleration and/or braking is recommended before any directional shifts are made.
Speed changes and directional changes at full engine speed are possible.
In order to decrease engine speed, push down on decelerator pedal (2).
When the machine slows, shift the transmission to the desired direction with direction selector (5).
Increase the engine speed by releasing the decelerator pedal (2).
Press transmission upshift button (6A) or transmission downshift button (6B) for the desired transmission speed. Normal Steering
The machine can be steered when the transmission direction selector is in the NEUTRAL position.
When the steering lever is moved with the transmission in NEUTRAL or in gear, and the engine is running, the machine will turn. Engage the steering control lock by engaging the parking brake in order to prevent machine movement.
Illustration 4 g03890403When the machine is moving forward, push the steering control lever forward for a left turn. When the machine is moving backward, push the steering control lever forward for a right turn. When you move the steering control lever farther in a forward motion, the machine will turn faster. When the machine is moving forward, pull the steering control lever backward toward the operator for a right turn.
