installation Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: The gear pump can be installed onto the main hydraulic pump prior to the installation of the main hydraulic pump. This procedure will increase the difficulty of the installation. This procedure will save time.

Position pump assembly (6) to the coupling assembly. The weight of the pump assembly is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).
Install bolts (5). Bolts (5) secure the main hydraulic pump to the pump housing.

Place tube assemblies (4) in position. Install bolts (3) .Note: Check the O-ring seal on tube assembly (4) .

Connect hose assemblies (2) and (1).
Refill the hydraulic tank with hydraulic oil. The capacity of the hydraulic tank is approximately 57 L (15 US gal). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the proper procedure. End By:
Install the gear pump (Auxiliary). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Auxiliary) - Remove and Install".
Install the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".
Install the counterweight. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Counterweight - Remove and Install".
