Information:


Heavy component. Avoid possible injury. Do not move prior to securely attaching a proper lifting device.
When installing the bearing housing, remember to align the marks put on the bearing housing and drum head during disassembly.
5. Raise the bearing housing with the hoist. Using the threaded studs as guides, lower the bearing housing in place on the drum. 6. Remove the two threaded studs from the drum head. Remove the lifting eye from the bearing housing and reinstall the plug.7. Check the condition of the rubber shock mounts. Replace any that show signs of severe cracking, fatigue or breakage. 8. Bolt the three shock mounts to the shock mount brackets if these pieces have been disassembled. 9. Put the three shock mount assemblies in place on the bearing housing. Install six bolts to secure the shock mounts and bearing housing to the drum head. Torque the six bolts to 300 N-m (220 ft.-lb.). D. Drum Drive Installation
1. If disassembled, reassemble the drum drive assembly. Refer to the next section; Drum Drive Assembly.

2. Attach a hoist to two holes in the planetary mount as illustrated. Carefully lift the drum drive assembly and set in place on the shock mounts. 3. Secure the drum drive assembly to the shock mounts with 12 bolts. E. Drum Drive Assembly
1. Secure the planetary mount to the torque hub with eight bolts. 2. Install the drum drive mount to the above assembly with five Budd nuts. 3. Connect the torque hub lube hose to the planetary mount. 4. Install the propel motor to the torque hub. F. Weight Shaft And Stub Shaft Replacement
Lifting the drum without using a properly sized clamp and hoist could cause the drum to fall, causing damage to equipment or injury to personnel.
Use caution when moving drum with hoist. Drum could spin, causing injury to personnel. Make sure area around drum is clear before moving drum.
1. Use a hoist to set the drum on its side. Attach a clamp to vibratory edge of drum. Use a hoist to set edge of drum on blocks with vibratory side of drum up.
Examine the oil slinger before installing the weight shaft in the next step. If the oil slinger is bent or damaged, or if the welds appear fatigued, the oil slinger must be repaired or replaced.
2. Insert the short end of the weight shaft in the drum, into the weight bearing. 3. Clean the inside surfaces of the stub shaft thoroughly. Install a new o-ring over the inside of the stub shaft. 4. Insert threaded studs, about 76 mm (3 in.) long, into two opposite mounting holes in the drum head.
