Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the engine oil relief valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Relief Valve - Remove and Install".
Remove the crankshaft rear seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Rear Seal - Remove and Install".
Remove the engine oil pump and the suction pipe. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Remove".
Remove the pistons and the connecting rods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pistons and Connecting Rods - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
The engine should be mounted in a suitable stand with the rear end upward.

Remove bolts (2) from the cylinder block.
Remove allen head screws (1) from the cylinder block.

Attach a suitable lifting device (3) to crankshaft assembly (4).
Carefully lift crankshaft assembly (4) from the cylinder block. If necessary, gently tap the nose of the crankshaft with a soft faced hammer. Note: Install the nut for the crankshaft pulley in order to protect the nose of the crankshaft. Do not scratch any of the finished surfaces on the crankshaft.
