Remove bolts (4) and retainer plate (5). Note: Shims are located behind retainer plate (5).

Install Tooling (A) into the spindle. Slide hub (6) and ring gear (7) onto Tooling (A). Attach a suitable lifting device to hub (6) and ring gear (7). The combined weight of hub (6) and ring gear (7) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Remove hub (6) and ring gear (7) as a unit.

Use Tooling (C) in order to compress retaining ring (8). Separate ring gear (7) from hub (6). The weight of ring gear (7) is approximately 22 kg (48 lb). The weight of hub (6) is approximately 24 kg (52 lb).

Use Tooling (D) and a suitable press in order to remove bushing (9) from hub (6).

Use Tooling (E) in order to remove bearing cone (10) from hub (6).

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to wheel (11). The weight of wheel assembly (11) is approximately 170 kg (375 lb). Remove wheel assembly (11).

Remove Duo-cone seal gp (12) and (13) from wheel (11).

Use a suitable punch in order to remove bearing cups (14) from wheel (11).

Use Tooling (F) in order to remove bearing cone (17) from spindle (18), if necessary.

Remove guard (19) and disconnect tube assemblies (20).

Attach Tooling (G) and a suitable lifting device to service brake assembly (22). The weight of service brake assembly (22) is approximately 286 kg (630 lb). Remove bolts (21) and remove service brake assembly (22).

Place service brake assembly (22) onto suitable cribbing. Attach Tooling (G) and a suitable lifting device to spindle (23). The weight of spindle (23) is approximately 66 kg (146 lb). Remove O-ring seal (25). Remove bolts (24) and remove spindle (23).
