Schematic of the Refueling Function circuit connections.The Refueling Function is controlled by the Machine ECM based on input from the Refueling Pump Switch and other machine conditions. The ECM will use the Refueling Pump Relay to activate the Refueling Pump. When the ECM detects that the Refueling Pump Switch input is grounded, the ECM turns ON the sinking driver output for the Refueling Pump Relay. When the relay is energized, system voltage from the Refueling Fuse will be directed to the Refueling Pump Motor through the relay contacts. The following conditions must be correct in order for the ECM to energize the Refueling Pump Relay.
The Engine is OFF.
The left console must be in the RAISED position.
No travel is detected as indicated by the Transmission Output Speed Sensor.When the ECM has energized the Refueling Pump Relay, all of the other ECM outputs will be disabled.The ECM will monitor the fuel level that is in the fuel tank during the refueling process. If the fuel tank is less than 96 percent full, the ECM will operate the relay in an automatic mode. When in the automatic mode and the momentary Refueling Pump Switch is pressed and released, the ECM energizes the Refueling Pump Relay and keeps the relay energized until the switch is pressed again.When in the automatic mode, the ECM will de-energize the relay if any one of the following conditions are true:
If the tank is not greater than 96 percent full after more than 18 minutes have passed.
If the ECM has not detected a change in the fuel level of at least 1 percent within 120 seconds.When the ECM detects that the fuel tank level has reached 96 percent full, the ECM will switch to the manual mode. When the manual mode is active, the Refueling Pump Switch must be depressed and held for the ECM to energize the Refueling Pump Relay.If the left armrest position switch is faulted, the ECM will not energize the Refueling Pump Relay.
