Rework Procedure
Inspect the coolant shunt tank, coolant level sensor connector, and wiring harness, for signs of coolant leakage onto or into the wiring harness.
1. Disconnect the harness connector between the coolant level sensor harness and main harness (1). Inspect the connector for the presence of coolant. Refer to Image1.2.1.

3. If there is coolant present at connector (1), follow the harness to 70 pin engine ECM connector (2). Inspect the connector on the harness and on the ECM for signs of corrosion or the presence of coolant. Refer to Image1.3.1.
4. If there is corrosion on the ECM connector or there is coolant on the ECM connector, inspect the ECM for proper operation.
5. If the tank level sensor is leaking coolant, ensure that Step 2 is completed, the harnesses will need to be replaced. Replace the existing tank with a new tank (can be either BEFORE FAILURE or AFTER FAILURE).
