After failure only PRODUCT SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR REPLACING THE MONITOR USED IN THE MARINE MONITORING SYSTEMS FOR CERTAIN 3606, 3608, 3612, 3616, AND 3618 MARINE ENGINES
7490 PS50289 This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS50289" as the Part number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program. Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
The 1463117 monitor and the 1621662 monitor used in marine monitoring systems have not met reliability targets. Any failure of the hardware on either of these monitors will be covered under this program.

Follow instructions in REHS0446 for mounting the new monitor.
Register the software. If production application software was used in the original monitor the rework is complete. If custom application software was used in the original monitor, a 256 tag license upgrade may be necessary. Contact LEC Service Support Center for the upgrade. If the original monitor was a 1463117 monitor and custom application software was used or if the original monitor was a 1621662 monitor and you don't have a copy of the custom application program, then contact the LEC service support center for a copy of the custom application software.

The 2037811 Monitor is the service replacement monitor for the 1463117 Monitoring Control and the 1621662 Monitoring Control used in MMS (Marine Monitoring Systems). This Monitor uses Wonderware as the Graphic Display Application.
The following procedure must be done to register the software to the user. This procedure can be done either connected to the PLC or disconnected from the PLC.
Connect a PS/2 compatible keyboard and power to the monitor.
Turn on power.
When prompted, accept the license agreement and select the Next button.
Enter the Microsoft Windows NT product I.D., located on the right side of the computer and press Next.
Select OK, when the message appears indicating that the system could not login.
