OracleXE Usage
For systems that are using OracleXE, perform the following procedure:
Check that the OracleXEService and OracleXETNSListener services have started. Each should be set to automatic and be able to start successfully.
Run a command prompt and press enter.
"set ORACLE_SID=XE"
"sqlplus system/mine1star"
If an error is received stating that the Oracle shared memory realm is not available, the service is starting but the database is not starting.
Log into "sqlplus sys/mine1star" as "sysdba" and enter "startup".The service should automatically start the database. This startup is controlled by the registry settings in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Oracle".If the control settings are correct, but the user has to issue the startup command manually, the user can script the startup in an environment where the auto startup of the database is not working. The user can write a batch file to connect to sqlplus as "sysdba" and issue the startup command. The batch file will need to run on server startup. Then the services will need to be started manually or by the script once the database is started."ORA-01017" Error
If the MineTracking log shows the "ORA-01017" error, the system indicates that "createDataStores" did not complete correctly. Check the log file "mstar/createDateStores.log".
