1. Turn the tractor 90° to the scraper. Release the parking brake. If your machine is equipped with a ROPS cab turn the tractor to the right. 2. Drain the transmission oil from the transmission case and differential case. Remove plugs (1) and (2) to drain the transmission oil. Capacity is approximately 29 U.S. gal. (109.8 litre). Install the plugs after the transmission oil is drained. 3. This step is for 637D machines only. Disconnect harness (3) from the manual switch and move the harness clear of the transmission. 4. Disconnect the wire from light (4).5. Disconnect hose (6) from the transfer gear case. Move hose (6) and the wire for the light clear of the transmission.6. Disconnect oil lines (5) for the transmission oil cooler from the adapter. 7. Remove nuts (8) and move the cushion hitch pump (7) clear of the transmission.8. Remove cover (9) from the transfer gear case. 9. Remove spiral snap ring (10) and install a 3/8"-16 NC forged eyebolt in drive shaft (11). Pull the drive shaft out far enough to fasten a hoist. Fasten a hoist and remove the drive shaft. Weight is 76 lb. (34 kg). 10. Remove hose (12) that goes from the quick release valve to the transmission case. 11. Remove cover (13) from the housing for the transmission control cable.12. Remove clip (14) that holds the air lines to the cover.13. Disconnect air line (15) for the transmission lock from the cover. 14. Loosen nut and bolt (18). Remove lever (16) and the key from the shaft.15. Remove the bolts that hold housing (17) to the cover. Move the housing and transmission control cable clear of the transmission. 16. Fasten a strap and tool (A) to implement and steering pump (20) to hold the pump up when the transmission is removed.17. Remove nuts (19) that hold the pump to the transfer gear case.18. Install a 5/8"-11 NC forged eyebolt in the top of the transfer gear case. Fasten a hoist to the transmission. 19. Remove nuts and washers (21) and bolts (22). Nuts and washers (21) hold the transmission and differential to the differential case. Bolts (22) hold the transmission to the differential.
Do not remove two nuts and washers (23). Nuts and washers (23) hold the differential to the differential case.
20. Install two 5/8"-11 NC forcing screws. Remove the transmission. Weight is 2800 lb. (1270 kg). Tool (A) will hold the steering and implement pump up.Install Transmission
1. Fasten a hoist and put the transmission (1) in position on the studs in the differential case. Install the washers and nuts that hold the transmission to the differential case. Install the four bolts that hold the transmission to the differential. 2. Fasten a hoist and put the drive shaft in the transmission. Use a pipe (2) that is approximately 3 ft. (91 cm) long with a 2.5 in. (63.5 mm) inside diameter to lift the inside end of the drive shaft so it can be installed.3. Install the spiral
