Attach a suitable lifting device to engine (21). The weight of engine (21) is approximately 327 kg (720 lb). Install engine (21)

Install bolts (20) into the rear engine mounts. Install bolt (19) in the lower front engine mount.

Connect ground strap (18).

Connect lower coolant hose (17).

Install harness assembly (15). Install hoses (16)

. Install hose assemblies (13) and (14).

Connect harness assemblies (11) and cable assemblies (12).

Install injector harness assemblies (10). Attach all clips and harnesses.

Connect clips (7) and install the harness assembly. Install harness assemblies (8) and (9).

Install compressor (6) on the engine. Install the tube assemblies. Connect tube assemblies (4) to hose ends.Note: Compressor may be installed as engine is half way into the chassis or remove counterweight for clearance.
Install V-belt (5). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace"" for the correct Installation procedures.
Charge the air conditioner refrigerant into the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, ""All Products Air Conditioning and Heating R-134a for All Caterpillar Machines" for the correct procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, ""Air Conditioning Tools"" for the correct tools."

Install fuel lines with clips (3) over the rear of the engine. Install fuel lines (1) and (2) as previously marked.
Fill the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct filling procedures.End By:
Install the piston pump.
Install the diesel particulate filter.
Install the hood.
