Bucket control valve spool (3) has three positions. The three positions are the following: bucket LOAD, HOLD and DUMP. Spring (2) keeps the spool in the HOLD position when the bucket circuit is not active.The bucket control valve components are load check valve (6), flow control valve (8), resolver (16) and makeup and relief valves (21) and (29). Flow control valve (8) modulates in order to keep the same flow of oil to the bucket cylinder at all pump pressures. Resolver (16) is a double check valve. The resolver allows the highest signal pressure to continue to the next valve in the signal system.HOLD Position

Oil from passage (11) flows through outlet slot (9) to chamber (7). Pressure increases in chamber (7) and the pressure moves flow control valve (8) downward against spring (12). In HOLD, pressure in chamber (7) and passage (5) equals the value of the spring.When spool (3) is in the HOLD position and any other control valve in the hydraulic system is used, pump oil pressure in pump passage (11) increases.
