Manual Lubrication Mode
A manual lubrication cycle is initiated through the VIMS or ET. The VIMS initiates only one lubrication cycle. The manual lubrication cycle may not start immediately if the system was not ready at the time of triggering. Multiple consecutive manual lube cycles may be initiated through ET. In ET, the default value for the number of cycles is one cycle. ET will reset to one cycle when one of the following actions takes place:
ET is exited.
ET is disconnected.
The machine is powered down.Note: In ET, use the "Cancel" button in order to stop the manual lubrication cycle. The system will return to automatic mode. The manual lubrication mode activates a lubrication cycle that is identical to the Automatic Lubrication Mode.Note: The 994H has a manual lubrication switch. A manual lubrication cycle may also be initiated with Electronic Technician (ET). The 994H uses the Advisor Display as the interface with VIMS.Detailed Operation of the Manual Lubrication Cycle
In manual mode, the power train control begins by checking that the engine speed is greater than 600 rpm. If the engine speed is less than 600 RPM, then the power train control ignores the command for a manual lubrication cycle and returns back to automatic mode.
If engine speed is greater than 600 RPM, the power train control will check the status of the autolube solenoid. If the autolube solenoid is OFF, then the power train control checks the following:
Check that the grease pressure has been below 3450 kPa (500 psi) for more than 120 seconds.
If the grease pressure has not been below the 3450 kPa (500 psi) for more than 120 seconds, then the power train control will perform the following actions:
Check that the autolube solenoid has been shut off for more than 270 seconds.
If the autolube solenoid has not been off for more than 270 seconds, the power train control will wait until the 270 second cycle is complete before issuing the "Autolube Pressure Not Decreasing After Cycle" warning. If the autolube solenoid is off for more than 270 seconds and the grease pressure is more than 3450 kPa (500 psi), the power train control will perform following actions:
Activate the "Autolube Not Decreasing After Cycle" warning.
Revert to the automatic mode.
If the grease pressure has been below 3450 kPa (500 psi) for more than 120 seconds, then the power train control will clear any high pressure and low-pressure warnings. The power train control will then check the state of the lockout for the autolube solenoid.
If the lockout for the autolube solenoid is active, then the power train control will perform the following actions:
Change the lubrication system back to automatic mode.
Issue the "Autolube System Cannot Operate" warning.
If the lockout for the autolube solenoid is not active, then the autolube solenoid is energized in order to pressurize the lubrication system. After the autolube solenoid has been energized, the power train control monitors the pressure of the grease. If the grease pressure has been above the threshold pressure (15000 kPa (2200 psi)) for at least
