Removal Procedure
Start By:
Install the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area.
Personal injury can result from hot oil or hot components.At operating temperature, oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns.Remove the fill cap only when the engine is stopped, and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
In order to prevent possible personal injury, release the air pressure from the air tank before disconnecting any components of the air system.

Note: Release the pressure in the air tank.
Disconnect tube assembly (5) .Note: Some oil will need to be collected when the hose assemblies are disconnected.Note: Before any connections are removed, identify all the hose assemblies for installation purposes.
Disconnect hose assemblies (6) and (7) .
Disconnect tube assembly (8) .
Disconnect wires (1) and (2) .
Remove two bolts (4) and the two washers. Remove electric drive pump (3) and the plate as an assembly. The pump group weighs approximately 12 kg (26.5 lb).
If necessary, remove the plate and the fittings from the pump.
