Introduction
This Special Instruction provides instructions to reseal the skylight window on the machines listed above. The resealing of the window addresses leakage and delamination issues that some machines have encountered.Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information.Safety Section
Before any burning or welding on a machine, all electrical power must be disconnected at the source, and locked out/tagged out. Failure to do so may result in electrical component damage. The immediate area shall be rockdusted, and the required fire-fighting materials shall be immediately available. All required gas testing shall be conducted throughout the operation.

Check the flatness of the top of the cab to ensure that there will not be any large gaps during installation. If the roof has significant peaks or valleys, contact your dealer technical communicator for further instructions.

Missing studs
Check for missing studs. If any studs are missing, clean the old stud locations and grind off the paint. Place the window glass into position and mark the location for any new studs to be installed. Tack-weld the new 507-6464 Studs in place. Touch up the area with Caterpillar yellow paint.

Install seal (1) to the perimeter of the window opening.
Place the window glass on top of the seal and check the fit. Taller spacers will be installed that do not allow crushing of the seal material. Check for large gaps between the window glass and the seal. Correct the gaps as needed by adding additional seal material.

Install 12 spacers (2) onto the studs.
Install 12 seals (3) and washers (6) onto the studs.
Install 12 nuts (4) onto the studs. Tighten to 15 3 N m (11 2 lb ft).
Check the seal for leaks by spraying water along the edges of the skylight.
