Do not operate the machine with the guard in the lowered position. Damage to the machine or actuator could result.
The guard is heavy. Personal injury or death may result from being struck by or trapped under the guard. Do not allow anyone to work near or under the machine when the guard is being raised or lowered.
Transmission Guard
The transmission guard is located between the rear axle and the articulation joint on this machine.Lowering the Transmission Guard

(1) Retaining bolts
(2) Chain hooks
(3) Bottom guard The bottom guard that is beneath the transmission on this machine is hinged at the back.Use the following method to lower the front of the bottom guard.
Position a jack under the front of bottom guard (3) in order to lower the guard. The head of the jack should be touching the guard.
Stay clear of the area beneath the guard. Remove retaining bolts (1) from both sides of the machine that secure the bottom guard.
Lower the front of the guard enough so that chain hooks (2) can be disconnected from the eyebolts on the frame rails of the machine.
Disconnect the chain hooks from the eyebolts.
Continue to lower the guard until the guard is resting on a suitable support. Raising the Transmission Guard
Stay clear of the area beneath the guard. Raise the guard with a jack until chain hooks (2) can be connected to the eyebolts on the frame rails of the machine.
Connect the chain hooks to the eyebolts.
Continue to raise the guard with the jack until the guard contacts the underside of the machine.
Install retaining bolts (1) on both sides of the machine to secure the bottom guard in position. Tighten the retaining bolts properly.
Remove the jack from beneath the bottom guard. Front Guard
The front guard is located behind the front axle on this machine.Lowering the Front Guard
The front guard on this machine does not have a hinge to support the guard. The front guard is held in position by four retaining bolts and washers.

(5) Retaining bolts and washers
Position a suitable jack under front bottom guard (4) in order to lower the guard. The head of the jack should be touching the guard.
Stay clear of the area beneath the front guard. Remove retaining bolts (5) that secure the front guard.
Lower the guard until the guard is resting on a suitable support. Raising the Front Guard
Position a suitable jack beneath the front guard.
Stay clear of the area beneath the front guard. Raise the guard with the jack until the guard is in proper position and contacts the frame of the machine.
Install retaining bolts and washers (5) to secure the front guard in position. Tighten the retaining bolts properly.
Remove the jack from beneath the front guard.
