Attach a suitable lifting device to the axle shaft. The weight of the axle shaft is approximately 41 kg (90 lb). Install the axle shaft in the final drive. Slide Tooling (D) over the end of the axle shaft, as shown. Use Tooling (D) to guide the axle shaft in position in the final drive.

Align sun gear (9) with the planetary gears and slide the sun gear completely on the axle shaft. Remove Tooling (D) .

Use Tooling (C) to install retaining ring (10) .

Remove bolt (5). Attach Tooling (B) to cover assembly (2). Install cover assembly (2) and the O-ring seal. Install bolts (1). Remove Tooling (B). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 105 20 N m (77 15 lb ft). Attach a suitable lifting device to bar assembly (4). The weight of bar assembly (4) is approximately 161 kg (355 lb). Install bar assembly (4). Remove bolt (6). Install bolt (6) with the spacer. Install bolts (7). Install pin assembly (3) .
Fill the axle housing with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil - Change".Installation Procedure for the 824H Wheel Dozer and the 826H Landfill Compactor

Align sun gear (6) with the planetary gears and slide the sun gear completely on the axle shaft. Remove Tooling (A) .

Use Tooling (C) to install retaining ring (7) .

Install O-ring seal (4) in the groove of the final drive assembly.

Install cover assembly (2), six bolts (1) and the washers. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 105 20 N m (77 15 lb ft).
Install drain plug (3) .
Fill the axle housing with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil - Change".
