Information:
1. Remove bolts (1) and straps (2), and disconnect the center drive shaft. 2. Remove bolt (3), retainer (4), the O-ring seal and yoke assembly (5). Remove bolts (6) that hold the front drive shaft and carrier bearing to the front frame. 3. Remove bolts (7) and straps (8), and disconnect the drive shaft from the front differential. 4. Use two 3/8"-16 NC forcing screws (9), and loosen the drive shaft and carrier. Remove it from the front frame. 5. Remove two bolts (10), and remove retainer (11). Remove lip seal (12) and the O-ring seal from retainer (11). 6. Press shaft (13) from the carrier bearing.7. Remove the spider assembly from the shaft. See Universal Joints. 8. Remove bearing (14) from cage (15).Install Drive Shaft And Carrier Bearing (Front)
1. Use tooling (A), and install seal (1) with the lip of the seal pointing outward. 2. Install lower race (2) and spacer (3) into cage (4). 3. Install guard (5) on the shaft. Lubricate the lip seal with 5P0960 Multipurpose Grease, and install cage (4) on the shaft. Put bearing (6) in position. Use yoke (7) and retainer (8), and press bearing (6) onto the shaft. Remove yoke (7) and retainer (8).4. Install the upper race over the bearing. 5. Use tooling (A), and install seal (9) into retainer (10) with the lip of the seal pointing inward. Install O-ring seal (11). 6. Install retainer (10) and two bolts (12).7. Install the spider and bearing assemblies on the end of the drive shaft. See Universal Joints.8. Put the front drive shaft and carrier bearing in position in the front frame, and install bolts (13). 9. Put the front drive shaft in position in yoke (14). Install straps (15) and bolts (16). Tighten bolts (16) to a torque of 60 7 N m (44 5 lb.ft.). 10. Lubricate the lip seal with 5P0960 Multipurpose Grease, and install yoke (7). Put the O-ring seal in position on the shaft, and install retainer (8) and bolt (17). Tighten bolt (17) to a torque of 135 15 N m (100 11 lb.ft.). 11. Put the center drive shaft in position. Install straps (18) and bolts (19). Tighten bolts (19) to a torque of 60 7 N m (44 5 lb.ft.).END BY:a. separation of steering frame lock link
