Remove the front wheel bearings and the Duo-Cone seals. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Front Wheel Bearings - Remove".

Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from hot oil or hot components.At operating temperature, oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns.Remove the fill cap only when the engine is stopped, and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Failure to follow the recommended procedure or the specified tooling that is required for the procedure could result in damage to components.To avoid component damage, follow the recommended procedure using the recommended tools.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto front brake assembly (1). The weight of front brake assembly (1) is approximately 508 kg (1120 lb).

Remove nuts (2).
Remove brake assembly (1).

Remove O-ring seal (3) from the spindle.
