Apply Tooling (A) to the locating dowels that are located on the mounting pads of front axle assembly (7). Attach a suitable lifting device to front axle assembly (7). The suitable lifting device should be fastened around the housing for the service brake, as shown. This will prevent front axle assembly (7) from rotating when front axle assembly (7) is lowered. The weight of front axle assembly (7) is approximately 19,050 kg (42,000 lb). Lift front axle assembly (7) into position.

Connect harness assembly (10). Install guard (9). Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of bolts (8) and to the face of the spacers for the bolts. Install new bolts (8). Do NOT reuse the old mounting bolts.
Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 1500 150 N m (1106 110 lb ft). Then, tighten bolts (8) for an additional 180 degrees.

Connect hose assemblies (4), (5), and (6) to the top of the front axle assembly.

Install bolts (2) that connect front drive shaft (3) to the front axle. Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 530 70 N m (390 52 lb ft).End By:
Install the front tires. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim - Remove and Install".
Separate the frame lock link. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Remove the rear wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
