Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.Spring force will be released when covers are removed.Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
Personal injury or death can occur from not following the proper procedure or the recommended tooling.To prevent the possibility of injury or death, follow the established procedure using the recommended tooling.
Before you remove the air intake shutoff, pull the trip knob on the air intake shutoff or press the emergency stop button in order to release the blade latch. If the blade latch is released after the air intake shutoff is removed, serious personal injury can result.
Manually release the air shutoff. Pull in order to release the knob on the air shutoff. Ensure that the indicator on the air shutoff points straight down to the "OFF" position. If the air shutoff did not trip, refer to Troubleshooting, "Air Shutoff System".

Disconnect harness assemblies (3).
Attach a suitable lifting device to elbow (2). Remove bolts (1) and the washers. Remove bolts (8) and (7). Remove elbow (2).
Disconnect tube assembly (5) from air shutoff (6).
Disconnect harness assembly (4). Remove clamp assembly (9) to the intake manifold.
Remove air shutoff (6) and the gasket. Note: Inspect the lines of the air intake for debris.
Repeat this procedure on the opposite side of the engine. Installation Procedure

Install air shutoff (6) in the reverse order of removal.
Reset the indicator on the air shutoff. Ensure that the arrow on the indicator is pointing straight up to the "OPEN" position.
Test air shutoff (6) for proper operation and refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Air Shutoff".
