Illustration 1 g03591576This CID 2110 diagnostic code is associated with the inclination sensor. The FMI 09 diagnostic code means the Implement ECM did not receive expected information from the inclination sensor over the J1939 (CAN A) data link. The possible causes of the CID 2110 FMI 09 diagnostic code are listed below:
An open or a poor connection exists in the circuit for the CAN Data Link in the Implement ECM
The terminating resistors are open or the resistors are disconnected.
The sensor has failed. Note: A loss of power in the system to an ECM can cause the Implement ECM to activate this diagnostic code. Ensure that the ECMs with this diagnostic code are powered up before proceeding with this procedure.Note: Ensure that the CID 2110 FMI 09 diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure.Test Step 1. Cycle The Power To The System
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position. Wait for 15 seconds.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Check the status of the CID 2110 FMI 09 diagnostic code. Expected Result:The CID 2110 FMI 09 diagnostic code is not active. Results:
YES - The CID 2110 FMI 09 diagnostic code is not active.Repair: Cycling the power has reset the ECM. Return the machine to normal operation.STOP
NO - The CID 2110 FMI 09 diagnostic code is active. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK FOR POWER AT THE SENSOR
The disconnect switch and the key start switch remain in the ON position. Do not start the engine.
At the machine harness side of the inclination sensor, insert a multimeter probe along contact "1" wire (J764-BR(Brown)) and along contact "6" wire (709-OR(Orange)). Do not disconnect the machine harness connector from the sensor.
Measure the voltage. Expected Result:The voltage measurement is 10 0.5 VDC.Results:
YES - The voltage measurement is between 9 and 11 VDC. The power circuits for the sensor are correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The voltage measurement is not 10 0.5 VDC. The power supply for the sensor is not correct. There is an open circuit or a bad connection in the machine harness.Repair: Refer to Electrical System Schematic, KENR8935. Examine all of the connectors that are in the circuit. Ensure that the connections are clean and secure. Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 3. Check The Resistance Of The Circuit For The Can Data Link
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
At the J2 machine harness connector for the sensor, measure the resistance between contact 5 wire (F711-YL(Yellow)) and contact 2 wire (F712-GN(Green)). Expected Result:The resistance measurement is 60 6 ohms. Results:
YES - The resistance measurement is 60 6 ohms. Proceed to Test Step 5.
NO - The resistance measurement is not 60 6 ohms. Proceed to Test Step 4.Test Step 4. Check The Termination Resistors
Disconnect the 3-pin connector for both of the termination resistors.
Measure the resistance between contact "A" and contact "B" for the resistor. Measure the resistance between contact "A" and contact "B" for
