B     1P-2420     Transmission Repair Stand     1    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to torque converter (4) . The weight of torque converter (4) is approximately 125 kg (275 lb). Ensure that the torque converter adapter is clean. Apply a thin film of clean transmission oil onto the torque converter adapter. Ensure that the splines are aligned. Gently install torque converter (4) .

Remove speed sensor (5) . Position speed sensor (5) out of the way.
Position a suitable punch in the hole of speed sensor (5) in order to secure the rotating clutch.
Install bolt (3) . Tighten bolt (3) to a torque of 285 15 N m (210 11 lb ft).
Install plug (2) to a torque of 285 15 N m (210 11 lb ft).
Remove the punch. Position speed sensor (5) . Tighten speed sensor (5) to a torque of 37 4 N m (27 3 lb ft).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to transmission (1) . Remove transmission (1) from Tooling (B) . The weight of transmission (1) is approximately 544 kg (1200 lb).End By: Install the transmission. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission - Install".
