(4) Do not park on a grade that exceeds 15 degrees. When possible, locate the trailer package on a firm, level area. If the parking area is not level, park or locate the trailer package across the grade, so that the trailer does not tend to roll downhill.Park so that the trailer package does not interfere with traffic.Disconnect the breakaway cable. Disconnect all other electrical connections.Engage the parking brake. To engage the parking brake, pull the lever outward and pull the lever to the right. Adjust the tension for the parking brake by turning the lever. To disengage the parking brake, pull the lever to the left and push the lever inward. Stay clear of all pinch points. Do not attempt to lift the tongue by hand. Use a lifting device or use the jack. Get help if you cannot disconnect the trailer without avoiding injury.Hands and feet should be kept clear of tongue parts in order to avoid crushing injuries.Once the trailer is parked, move the tow vehicle away from the trailer to another location. Ensure that hazard indicators and barriers are set up, as required. Flares should be set up at night, as required.Exhaust Discharge
Heat from the engine must be removed from the trailer package during the operation of the trailer package. Some of this heat will exit with the engine exhaust. Other heat is removed from the cooling system as a cooling fan forces air through a radiator core. Both of these exhaust streams will leave the trailer package. These exhaust streams will enter the surrounding atmosphere. When you choose a site it is important to consider the hot exhaust that exits the trailer package.Park the trailer package so there are not any trees and plants in the path of the hot exhaust. The excessive heat may destroy trees and plants. Do not park the trailer package in an area of dry meadow grass, or other types of dry vegetation. The trailer package should not be parked close to a building. Do not place the air intake of a trailer package in the location of the exhaust of another trailer package.Be aware of overhead power lines. A 50 feet minimum height
